Foreign media cited unnamed senior Macedonian officials as saying that
the planed crashed near the southern Bosnian town of Mostar and that
the president was killed in the crash.
In the news programme at 10.30 AM, Macedonian Radio said that the
plane on which Trajkovski was travelling to the international
investment conference in Bosnia was lost on the radar 15 minutes
before landing in Mostar.
"Our rescue teams are in the field and we are trying to establish the
reasons why the plane lost the connection with the control tower. At
this moment we are not even sure whether the plane has crashed at all
and what really happened," spokesman for Bosnian Federation's Interior
Ministry Nedzad Vejzagic said.
Opening the investment conference in Mostar, the head of the Bosnian
Presidency, Dragan Covic, said information on the crash had not yet
been confirmed.
