The government proposes the amendments, which are part of an agreement
it has reached which the with the Croatian Party of Pensioners, so as
to improve the position of this category of citizens, Premier Ivo
Sanader said on Wednesday.
The addition of 100 kuna plus the 6-percent rise requires additional
20 million kuna of budgetary funds, and the Sanader cabinet should
secure 90 million kuna for the new system of adjusting the pensions as
well as some two million kuna annually for including the
above-mentioned 100 pensioners to the national pension scheme.
The government moved amendments to the three relevant laws into the
second parliamentary reading so that mothers with three or more
children can be allowed to be on the three-year maternity leave.
