ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - The state budget for 2004 will be adopted under urgent procedure because of short deadlines and previous practice, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader confirmed in parliament on Wednesday.

Commenting on criticisms from the opposition about the hastiness in
adopting the budget, Sanader said that parliament would discuss the
budget in the first reading this week and that amendments would be
submitted and the budget adopted next week.
He recalled that the previous government had done the same and that
the budget had to be adopted by the end of March because the
obligations of budgetary users were currently financed in line with a
provisional plan.
The budget will be adopted in March, the PM said.
