After the unveiling, the town branch of the Croatian Democratic Union
held a session to mark the 14th anniversary of the ruling party's
establishment.
Commenting on the recently defined government budget, Kosor said at
the session that despite difficulties, the government had formulated a
quality budget, which experts too said was good.
Kosor said the previous government had spent about 6.5 billion kuna
(EUR844 million) in advance and that about 30 million kuna (EUR3.9
million) worth of interest on various loans was due for payment this
year.
She said the budget was development and socially oriented, despite the
criticism it was going to encounter in parliament from the opposition
ranks. It is development oriented because 190 km of highways will be
completed this year and its demographic measures are an investment in
the future, she explained.
The budget secures funds for war veterans and their families, without
whom Croatia would not have been created, Kosor said.
