Sanader, Biskupic and their wives were invited by Austrian Chancellor
Wolfgang Schuessel, while Zuzul was the guest of Austrian Foreign
Minister Benita Ferrero Waldner.
"I attended the ball at the invitation of Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang
Schuessel, one of the leading European statesmen who has always
supported Croatia on its road to the EU," Sanader said after the ball,
which he added had been an opportunity to talk with many statesmen.
"I met Austrian President (Thomas) Klestil, Polish President
(Aleksandar) Kwasniewski and many European ministers. We exchanged
views on the current situation in Croatia, and it was also an occasion
to ask for support for Croatia's road to the EU. It was a lovely and
useful event which we used to promote Croatia's interests," Sanader
said.
