ZAGREB, Feb 19 (Hina) - Croatian Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship
Minister Branko Vukelic on Thursday received a delegation of the
Chinese Ministry of Commerce headed by the assistant minister for
investments and infrastructure works abroad, Chen Jian, the Croatian
ministry said in a press release.#L#
Chen said trade and investments between the two countries should be
encouraged, and added that the Chinese government would incite its
companies to invest in Croatia.
Potential fields of cooperation lie in the production of textile and
home electrical appliances, the infrastructure, the building of
bridges, and in telecommunications, Chen said.
According to data of Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics,
Croatia-China trade in 2003 went up 58 percent from the previous year,
reaching US410 million. Croatian exports amounted to 4.3 million, an
increase of 74 percent, while imports from China were 406 million or
58 percent more than in 2002.
The delegation is on a three-day visit to Croatia.
