ZAGREB, Feb 13 (Hina) - The turnover in retail sales in Croatia rose by five percent in nominal terms in 2003 as against 2002 and by 3.7 percent in real terms, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Friday.

The number of employees in this sector rose by five percent last year
in comparison to 2002, and the stocks in retail shops increased by 7.5
percent.
Last year, the increase in retail sales slowed down given that in 2002
turnover in retail sales climbed by 13.2 percent in nominal terms and
by 12.5 percent in real terms in comparison to 2001.
