ZAGREB, Feb 3(Hina) - Housing construction, the pharmaceutical, shipbuilding, construction and tourist industries are areas in which Croatia and India can advance their economic cooperation, the Croatian-Indian Business Council said
at its 3rd session, which was organised by the Croatian Chamber of the Economy on Tuesday.
ZAGREB, Feb 3(Hina) - Housing construction, the pharmaceutical,
shipbuilding, construction and tourist industries are areas in which
Croatia and India can advance their economic cooperation, the
Croatian-Indian Business Council said at its 3rd session, which was
organised by the Croatian Chamber of the Economy on Tuesday.#L#
The State Secretary in the Croatian Ministry of the Economy, Labour
and Entrepreneurship, Vladimir Vrankovic, presented to the Indian
businessmen the structure of the Croatian economy and the government's
economic plans.
The head of the Indian delegation, S. N. Menon, said Croatian
businessmen could enter the Indian market through the construction
industry and tourism, as well as the machine building industry.
After the council's plenary session, representatives of some 10
Croatian and as many Indian companies held separate meetings.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, in the first 11 months
of 2003 Croatia's exports to India amounted to US8.2 million while
imports from India totalled US41 million.
The most important Croatian products exported to India include steam
turbines and other forms of turbines, antibiotics, spinning machines,
chemical substances, wood and wool. Croatia imports cotton, coffee and
leather from India.
