ZAGREB, Feb 10 (Hina) - Croatia was visited by 8.87 million tourists last year, or seven per cent more than in 2002, the Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement on Tuesday.

The number of domestic holidaymakers also rose by seven per cent. Most of the foreign tourists were Germans (1.55 million, five percent increase), followed by Italians (1.2 million, five percent increase), Slovenes (918,400, six percent increase), Austrians (708,500, three percent increase), Czechs (699,400, same as in 2002), and Hungarians (356,100, 12 percent increase).
