This regulation will be included in amendments to the law on the
obligations and rights of state officials, which the parliament is
expected to adopt under urgent procedure.
According to current regulations, officials who have been relieved of
duty or whose mandate has expired, are entitled to receive their full
salary for six months, and a half of their salary for another six
months.
The stricter regulations will be implemented retroactively starting
with 1 January 2004. This means that the decision would apply to all
officials appointed by the Ivo Sanader cabinet.
