"The government believes that negotiations with the IMF should be
continued given the assumed commitments," Suker told reporters after a
meeting of incumbent and former government members which focused on
financial obligations the new government has assumed.
Suker told reporters that neither he nor Prime Minister Ivo Sanader
had said during the election campaign that the new government would
not make deals with the IMF. Suker and former finance minister Mato
Crkvenac agreed that controversies regarding the situation in the
health sector and road construction did not cause damage to Croatia's
credit rating.
There are no market indicators on the deterioration of Croatia's
credit rating, Crkvenac said.
