(HSP), Anto Djapic, has said that his party will be open for

Democratic Party (SDP), at forthcoming local elections.#L#
After the HSP Main Committee's session on Saturday morning, Djapic
told a news conference that this party body had nominated him as the
party's president for another term. The HSP electoral convention at
which the party leadership will be elected is scheduled for 28
October.
"The HSP will no longer be in the position of a hostage in which it
could count only on cooperation with the Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ)," Djapic told reporters, announcing a new era of his party's
activities in case of his re-election as the HSP chief.
"In the future the HSP should build bridges of cooperation and be open
for possibilities of cooperation with all democratic parliamentary
parties, including the SDP," said the leader of this right-wing
party.
Djapic went on to say that there had been no inter-party talks on the
matter so far but that "the HDZ defined its treatment of the HSP
through its post-election conduct." Consequently, the HSP has to seek
new partners, he added.
"The HSP will do its best to come to power, without abandoning its
basic values," Djapic said, announcing intensified activities in order
to pull the party from "international semi-isolation".
