ICTY: TRIAL OF MONTENEGRIN JOURNALIST FOR CONTEMPT OF COURT SCHEDULED FOR MAY 12

ZAGREB, Jan 27(Hina) - The trial of the director and editor in chief of the Podgorica-based daily "Dan", Dusan Jovanovic, who is charged with contempt of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), will be held on May 12-14, Judge Patrick Robins announced on Monday.
ZAGREB, Jan 27(Hina) - The trial of the director and editor in chief of the Podgorica-based daily "Dan", Dusan Jovanovic, who is charged with contempt of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), will be held on May 12-14, Judge Patrick Robins announced on Monday.#L# The ICTY issued an indictment against Jovanovic last April for contempt of court because in August 2002 his daily revealed the identity of protected witness K32 during the Kosovo part of the trial of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic. According to the indictment, Jovanovic admitted that the identity of the protected witness was revealed in order to "increase the sales" of the daily. After his identity was revealed, witness K32 received numerous threats, including death threats. Jovanovic faces up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to EUR100,000 if found guilty. (Hina) it
