ZAGREB, Jan 15 (Hina) - The Croatian government will next week formulate changes to the Law on Commerce to clarify ambiguities regarding the decision to ban the work of shops on Sundays and holidays. #L# The State Inspectorate has suggested changes to the law allowing Sunday work for bakeries, family shops, and shops selling the press, flowers and candles, and banning the work of wholesale shops. The Inspectorate has also suggested that petrol stations be allowed to work 24 hours a day and that their work on Sundays be defined. The changes to the Law on Commerce, which have been in force since 1 January, determine the working hours of retail shops and ban the work of big chains of shops and a number of other shops on Sundays. The government also proposed granting approval for the military exercise "Adriatic Phiblex 04-2 ENGINEEREX" to be held at a military range in Slunj between February 15 and June 30. The engineering manoeuvres will be performed by troops from nine countries, including Croatia. The cost of the exercise is 13.8 million kuna, of which 9.4 million would be secured by Croatia and 4.4 million by the United States. (Hina) rml sb
