OSIJEK, Jan 14 (Hina) - Social Democratic Party (SDP) vice-president Zeljka Antunovic said in Osijek on Wednesday citizens of Osijek-Baranja County voting for the coalition of the SDP, Croatian People's Party (HNS), and the Croatian
Party of Slavonia and Baranja (SBHS) in the elections for the county assembly on January 18 would vote for "normal, democratic authorities which will not misuse their trust".

Speaking at a press conference, Antunovic said the only serious rival
to the coalition was the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which she
believes is now acting as "if it were a changed and new party", but
"it is already becoming clear that this is not so".
She said that the HDZ had already given up most of its pre-election
promises, including the reduction of the VAT rate, which was postponed
for a year. She believes that the HDZ has a special problem in
Osijek-Baranja County because its list for that county "is headed by a
man who has never been law-abiding, but wants to run human lives, the
economy and resources as he pleases".
The head of the HDZ's list in Osijek-Baranja County, Branimir Glavas,
yesterday criticised Antunovic for supporting conflicted interest
groups in the "Valpovo" agricultural plant.
"We want to remind people of how they lived at the time Glavas was
running their lives, and how they lived in the past four years,"
Antunovic said.
