ZAGREB, Jan 1 (Hina) - The assembly of the Croatian Academy of Arts and
Sciences (HAZU) on Monday adopted the annual plan of its activities
for 2004.#L#
It was decided that 71 million kuna would be necessary for the
implementation of its plans in 2004. The HAZU budget thus rose by 15
percent in comparison to its budget in 2003. Of 71 million kuna, 62
million will be secured from the Croatian government's budget, 1.2
million should be ensured from the HAZU activities and the rest
through other sources.
In 2004, HAZU scientists and researches should continue 44 projects
they started in 2003. The Academy is expected to publish about a
hundred titles and organise a number of lectures, gatherings and
exhibitions.
Both the new HAZU President, Milan Mogus, and his predecessor Ivo
Padovan addressed the assembly presenting the plans for the new year.
