The purpose of the programme, called "Nikola Tesla - the Croatian e-Learning System", is to raise the level of computer literacy among students and teachers in primary and secondary schools.
The ceremony was addressed by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, who congratulated the students on their success, stressing that knowledge was the basis of success in the economy and society.
Science and Education Minister Dragan Primorac said that the purpose of the project was to make the Croatian education system the most competitive one in the region by 2010.
