By this act, Bakota took over the post of Croatia's ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Ankara, the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry said in a press release.
During the ceremony, President Sezer congratulated Croatia for having opened membership talks with the European Union. He also emphasised that it would be necessary for Croatia and Turkey to strengthen their relations, particularly on the economic front.
The forthcoming visit of Croatian President Stjepan Mesic to Turkey should contribute to this goal, too.
