Conference "Croatia - Towards an Economy of Knowledge" starts in Zagreb

ZagrebZAGREB, Dec 12 (Hina) - A national development plan should be adoptedby March next year and its purpose should be an increase in employmentand growth rate, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said at a nationalconference entitled "Croatia - Towards an Economy of Knowledge" inZagreb on Monday.
ZAGREB, Dec 12 (Hina) - A national development plan should be adopted by March next year and its purpose should be an increase in employment and growth rate, Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said at a national conference entitled "Croatia - Towards an Economy of Knowledge" in Zagreb on Monday.

The conference, organised by the government, was opened by Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.

The introduction of an economy of knowledge is expected to give additional impetus with regard to EU entry, PM Sanader said.

Participants in the conference, including guests from abroad and representatives of international institutions, were also welcomed by Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks.
