The event, organised by the Academy for Political Development and the British Council, pooled representatives from Croatia, Great Britain, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Romania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania.
The conference will focus on the importance of human resources for the successful completion of the process of transition and integration of Southeastern Europe with the European Union.
Special emphasis will be placed on human potential in the economy, public administration and politics, a topic to be addressed by numerous foreign and domestic experts.
The conference was opened by President Stjepan Mesic.
Participants in the event were also welcomed by representatives of the Council of Europe and the British Council, Uwe Mueller and Adrian Chadwick respectively.
The Academy for Political Development is a Council of Europe programme of political education, launched two years ago, while the British Council Croatia is Great Britain's international educational and cultural organisation in Croatia.
