Municipality head given suspended sentence for denying information to journalist

ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The head of Primosten Municipality, Stipe Petrina, has been given a suspended sentence of three months in prison with one year probation for denying information to a Slobodna Dalmacija daily journalist.

Petrina said that the verdict passed by Sibenik's Municipality Court was a disgrace for Croatia's judiciary, while journalist Simeona Pancirov hailed the verdict.

The verdict to the charges filed three years ago, was delivered on 5 December 2005.

Petrina said he would appeal.
