The declaration, adopted by the party presidency, says that Croats "are discriminated against while trying to get an employment as civil servants - they do not get hired by the national postal service, telecommunications company, police, customs service and the judiciary". The declaration also says that the principle of equal representation and positive discrimination is not applied.
The party stresses that a regulation on the official use of the Croat language is not applied by state services and that Catholic faithful in schools are discriminated against in relation to Serb Orthodox believers.
The only parliamentary party of the Croat minority in Serbia stresses that the state bodies have never discovered "let alone processed" the responsible for attacks on Roman Catholic churches, cemeteries and Croat monuments in Subotica, Novi Sad, Sombor and Srijem.
The Croat party in Serbia underlined that state bodies failed to express readiness to amend the election law so as to ensure the direct representation of minorities in the Serbian parliament which, as the party said, meant that Serbia did not want to implement an agreement on the protection of national minorities, signed by Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro.
"In order to be able to exercise minority rights, the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina will inform competent national and international organisations about this, notably the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the High Commissioner for National Minorities and others," the declaration said.
