THE HAGUE, Oct 17 (Hina) - The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has confirmed the third amended indictment against editor in chief of Croatian weekly Hrvatski List Ivica Marijacic and former chief of the Croatian Security and Information Service Markica Rebic, which charges the two men with contempt of court for revealing the identity and testimony of a protected witness in the 1997 Tihomir Blaskic trial.

The amended indictment dated 14 October, which the ICTY published on Monday, does not have new counts of accusations but the amendments refer only to facts from the previous indictment.

The amended indictment also includes three court orders which the accused broke by publishing the name and testimony of a protected witness in Hrvatski List weekly on 18 November 2004.

The original indictment against Marijacic and Rebic was confirmed on 26 April 2005 and the two men pleaded not guilty at their initial appearance.

The punishment for contempt of court, with which the ICTY charged four other Croatian journalists, is up to seven years in prison or up to EUR100,000, with a possibility of combining the two.
