"The Republic of Croatia has deserved to start talks on membership of the European Union," Jovic said in an interview with Herzegovina Television on Tuesday evening.
"All of us living in Bosnia-Herzegovina should be glad about the start of Croatia's talks on EU membership. Bosnia-Herzegovina shares a 1,100 kilometre-long border with Croatia, and Croatia has proved to be a great friend of Bosnia-Herzegovina," he added.
Recalling that a large number of Bosnian Croats had dual Bosnian and Croatian citizenship, Jovic stressed that Bosnian Croats were in particular glad and proud about the start of the talks.
Jovic expressed regret that Bosnia-Herzegovina had not yet signed a stabilisation and association agreement with the European Union, citing opposition by the Bosnian Serb authorities to police reform and the negative effect of their stance on all citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
