Igman Initiative to meet in Sarajevo in October

SARAJEVO, Sept 12 (Hina) - More than 140 nongovernmental organisations from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro, which make up the Igman Initiative, will hold a meeting on the tenth anniversary of the Dayton peace agreement in Sarajevo on October 27-28.

The meeting was announced at a news conference in Sarajevo on Monday by the head of the Civil Committee for Human Rights in Croatia, Zoran Pusic, the head of the Democratic Alternative Forum of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Sejfudin Tokic, and the head of the Centre for Regionalism from Novi Sad, Aleksandar Popov.

The Sarajevo meeting will open a debate on the possibility of amending the Dayton agreement, as well as encourage cooperation and normalisation of relations between the three neighbouring countries.

It is expected that the conference will be attended by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, Serbia and Montenegro President Svetozar Marovic, and the chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ivo Miro Jovic.

The presidents are expected to sign a joint declaration on the further normalisation of relations between the three countries.
