LUXEMBOURG, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Chief Prosecutor of the InternationalCriminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Carla del Ponte,confirmed on Monday afternoon that Croatia was fully cooperating withthe Hague-based UN war crimes
tribunal.
LUXEMBOURG, Oct 3 (Hina) - The Chief Prosecutor of the
International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), Carla del
Ponte, confirmed on Monday afternoon that Croatia was fully cooperating with
the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal. Leaving a meeting which she
had with European Union officials in Luxembourg, the ICTY Chief Prosecutor told
reporters that she had confirmed that Croatia had been cooperating fully for
several weeks.
Asked by reporters whether she recommended the opening of Croatia's EU
membership talks, del Ponte answered that it was up to the EU to decide on that
and that she was only a prosecutor.
