ZAGREB, Sept 30 (Hina) - The UN war crimes tribunal chief prosecutor, Carla del Ponte, expressed dissatisfaction in Zagreb on Friday saying that despite the positive developments in the past several months, the issue of war crimes fugitive Ante Gotovina remained unsolved.

Del Ponte said this after a joint meeting with Croatian President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader.

The prosecutor said she had two days to compile a report about cooperation with Croatia. She is expected to present her assessment of cooperation with Zagreb to the EU Task Force.

Foreign ministers of the EU Task Force member states will meet in Luxembourg on Monday to discuss Zagreb's cooperation with The Hague. After del Ponte submits her assessment, the EU is expected to decide about the start of Croatia's membership talks.

Del Ponte asked reporters not to ask about whether Croatia was fully cooperating, stressing that she would give her assessment to the EU foreign ministers.

Visibly disappointed, Sanader and Mesic said Croatia would continue to implement the Government's Action Plan to locate Gotovina and to cooperate with the ICTY regardless of the EU's decision about the start of the membership talks.

Mesic said the talks with del Ponte focused on Croatia's cooperation with the ICTY stressing that as far as he, the prime minister and their associates were concerned, Croatia fully cooperated with The Hague.
