The 49-year-old suspect will be escorted to the Osijek County Court Investigation Centre, the police told reporters on Wednesday.
The man was interviewed in the presence of an attorney and admitted to the crime, police chief Vladimir Faber said. He added there was no connection between this case and the recent arrest of Fred Margus, suspected of war crimes committed in the Osijek area in 1991.
Faber said the police had drawn up a work plan for every murder or disappearance and that the cases were being processed.
He said it would probably not be possible to shed light on most missing persons cases because of the passage of time and the lack of material traces and evidence. He added, however, that attempts would be made to shed light on cases where this was objectively possible.
Faber said seven cases were being processed, primarily murders for which crime scene investigations were done in 1991 and 1992 and for which there existed certain traces.
