The achievements made within the Adriatic Charter and other forms of military reform must be yet another reason for intense work and cooperation on the path to integration with NATO, chiefs of staffs General Miroslav Stojanovski of Macedonia, General Josip Lucic of Croatia and Beljim Cazimi of Albania agreed at the meeting.

Lucic said that Croatia strongly supported cooperation within the Adriatic Charter, noting that the progress of each country should be evaluated individually. He added that it would be good if other Western Balkan countries joined the Adriatic Charter in order to accelerate the implementation of reforms in their armed forces.

The third meeting of the chiefs of staff of the armed forces of the signatory countries was also attend by officials from NATO and the United States as well as by representatives of Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia-Montenegro.

The gathering was addressed by the US Ambassador to Macedonia, Jelian Milovanovic, who pointed out the position of Washington and Brussels to assess the achievements of each country individually. She added that mutual cooperation was encouraging to the Adriatic Charter signatories.
