DUBROVNIK, Sept 7 (Hina) - The fourth and this year's last international seminar held within the Sipan 2005 Summer School began on the island of Sipan on Wednesday, focusing on NATO and Southeast Europe.

The event, which closes on September 11, pooled about 50 participants from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Ukraine, Italy, Russia, Poland, and the Dominican Republic.

NATO's coordinator for Southeast Europe Zsoltan Rabai told the participants that Croatia, Albania and Macedonia were taking significant steps towards NATO, and that Croatia's only obstacle to full membership was cooperation with the war crimes tribunal in The Hague.

Rabai said that if the cooperation became full Croatia might be invited to join the alliance at the next summit.

Croatia's national coordinator for cooperation with NATO, Pjer Simunovic, said Croatia was willing to join the alliance and that the government's Action Plan was the best example of its wish to achieve full cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
