The government requested the competent ministries to prepare a plan for co-financing the 397 million kuna program, which is to be implemented from 2006 to 2010.
The construction of the water supply system is very important for this region where only 62 percent of residents are connected to the public water supply system, and only 19 percent use water that meets sanitary conditions, it was said at the session.
The government also set aside two million kuna for residents who suffered damage in recent floods in Slavonski Brod-Posavina County.
The government decided to exempt farmers with a lease on farmland from paying 25 percent of the lease which goes into the state budget and called on counties and cities to follow its example.
The government also adopted several decisions important for the local economy.
Before the session Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and other government officials met the county leadership, parliamentary representatives from the county and a group of local business people.
