The session focused on results which have so far been reached in the implementation of legal documents and other regulations and in the reconstruction of sacred facilities.
Discussing amendments to the Agreement on Issues of Joint Interest between the Republic of Croatia and the SPC in Croatia, dignitaries unanimously concluded that some provisions should be amended in light of the fact of new circumstances.
The SPC leadership also warns about a standstill in restitution of the Orthodox Church property, adding that reconstruction of war-devastated facilities of historic importance has not yet begun.
The Church leadership urges the Croatian government to consider the implementation of commitments it has assumed in relations with religious communities.
In line with the conclusions from its meeting, the SPC leadership asks for being received by Croatian Prime Minister for talks in a bid to solve accumulated problems.
The Orthodox dignitaries also considered their possible engagement in plans to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla, a world-famous scientist and inventor. Tesla, an ethnic Serb, was born in Croatia.
