The Independent on Wednesday includes an article about claims by the Hague war crimes tribunal's chief prosecutor Carla del Ponte that runaway general Ante Gotovina is hiding in a monastery in Croatia, and the article includes information about the arrest of the member of the embassy staff, suspected of causing the explosion in the embassy. The paper reports that the arrest "calmed fears that nationalists had begun a terrorist campaign to destabilise Zagreb's EU membership bid".
The BBC brings on its web site a report on Rovisan's arrest, while a report by the BBC Croatian section notes that the British Embassy failed to explain how a person with criminal background and previous convictions could have worked for the embassy.
The news of Monday's blast in the British Embassy in Zagreb was carried by world agencies as well as by leading British papers in their on-line editions.
