BELGRADE, Sept 18 (Hina) - Dragan Vasiljkovic aka Captain Dragan,
a Serb paramilitary leader during the Serb insurgence in Croatia in the early
1990s, arrived in Belgrade on Saturday to meet Serbian government officials
following an announcement by Croatia that it would seek his extradition from
Australia, Belgrade media have said. Vasiljkovic told reporters at
Belgrade airport that he was not planning to go to Croatia.
"The only reason why I am in Belgrade is a big press conference on
Wednesday, which will be shocking, and already on Thursday I am going back to
Australia. I have sent a letter to the Croatian minister of justice, giving her
my mobile number and telling her that I will come whenever they want, provided
they pay my return air fare," Vasiljkovic said.
Radio B92 also quoted Vasiljkovic as saying: "I forgot to write that
they give me enough time to get vaccinated against rabies. I am only afraid of
rabies, but I am not afraid of Croats."
