The fourth congress, which closes on September 9, was organised by the International Society for Applied Biological Sciences in cooperation with the Mayo Clinic from the United States.
Opening speeches were given by Croatian Science Minister Dragan Primorac and professors Moses Schanefield and Stanimir Vuk-Pavlovic.
Among other things, the congress will address bioterrorism, biological weapons and combating global terror with scientific methods, said Primorac.
The participants in the congress include Nobel winner for chemistry Robert Huber and one of the most renowned forensic experts, Henry Lee.
