PRISTINA, Aug 28 (Hina) - The Kosovo government and the UN civil
administrator have strongly condemned Saturday night's incident in which two
Serb youths were killed and another two wounded when their car was sprayed with
bullets by unidentified attackers on a road in southeast Kosovo. On
Sunday the government called for quick and effective action by the UNMIK
international peace-keeping force and the local police to identify and arrest
the perpetrators, and urged members of the public to cooperate with
law-enforcement officers in the course of the investigation.
UN civil administrator Soren Jessen Petersen said in a statement that
he was "shocked and appalled by this tragic and senseless crime" and that he
had requested the police to devote maximum attention to the case in order to
catch "the perpetrators of this heinous criminal act."
