Friday to explain to them the government's position on a bill declaring an ecological zone and a continental shelf in the Adriatic Sea, Slovene STA news agency said.
In an interview with Slovene television on Thursday, Rupel said that Slovenia was not laying any territorial claims by proclaiming a Slovene zone in the Adriatic.
"On the basis of legal and political arguments, Slovenia has access to open sea and is therefore entitled to a continental shelf and may declare a maritime zone," Rupel said.
Rupel described the withdrawal of the Croatian ambassador from Ljubljana for consultations as an overreaction, and noted that Slovenia would not impose any unilateral solutions.
