In a press release delivered to the media, Kostunica said that "an entire people, the Krajina Serbs, were rooted out from their ancestral home in a matter of days, before the cruel threat of destruction".
"After 10 years, there has been no justice or admission of the whole truth, and it will be impossible to completely eliminate the consequences of that tragedy," Kostunica said, adding that 250,000 displaced people and more than 2,000 killed or missing "testify to a crime which will not only be in the history of Serbs in Croatia and the history of the Serb people, but also in the history of the worst inhumanity".
Kostunica said the displaced should be enabled to return home and be given their human rights back because this was the only path leading to peace, justice, reconciliation and a European future.
