SARAJEVO, July 25 (Hina) - The head of the European Commission
Delegation to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Michael Humphreys, and Bosnian Prime Minister
Adnan Terzic on Monday signed an agreement on the financing of the CARDS
programme for this year, whereby the European Union will help the modernisation
and reform of Bosnia with EUR49.5 million. Humphreys said the money
would help Bosnia fulfil its commitments on the way to European
integration.
The priorities from the CARDS programme for 2005 are the strengthening
of state institutions so that Bosnia can become a reliable partner to the
international community.
The money envisaged will support the reform of the public
administration and encourage economic and social development as well as
democratic stability.
