MOSTAR, July 13 (Hina) - The reconstruction of Osman-Pasha's Mosque in the town of Trebinje in southern Bosnia-Herzegovina is finished, the main imam in that town, Husein Hodzic, told Hina on Wednesday.

This mosque as well as another nine mosques in this part of the country, called eastern Herzegovina, which is near the borders with Croatia and Montenegro, were destroyed by Serb forces during the 1990s war.

Hodzic said Osman-Pasha's Mosque in Trebinje was the first to be reconstructed in this area, which now belongs to the Serb entity.

He recalled that the reconstruction of the mosque had been previously planned for 2001 but extreme Serb groups provoked accidents and thus prevented the laying of the foundation stone for the rebuilding of this Islamic centre.

The imam announced the start of the rebuilding of another two mosques in eastern Herzegovina soon.
