After their meeting in the Cabinet, Srb and Sisljagic said that the premier had informed them of the process of the EU entry negotiations and Croatia's expectations about the completion of the talks, while the HSP and the HDSSB presidents briefed her about the positions of their parties on the matter.
Sisljagic said that he had acquainted PM Kosor with the HDSSB's position that the government should call parliamentary elections immediately.
"We have talked about the EU and I have highlighted that Croatian citizens are insufficiently informed about the negotiation policy chapters," the HDSSB chief said, warning that all layers of the Croatian society were insufficiently prepared for the country's admission to the European bloc, for which he said the government should be held responsible.
Asked what PM Kosor told them, Sisljagic said "the premier is convinced that the government is doing its job well" and that her cabinet insists on holding the referendum on Croatia's EU entry first and the parliamentary elections later.
Srb said that these two parties, which he described as "nation-building political options", should always talk for the benefit of Croatia. He criticised the rest of the Opposition for not appearing at the meeting with Kosor.
He said that the HSP was against Croatia's EU membership, "as it does not pay off economically". Before the meeting, Srb said that his party would also prefer the EU entry referendum before the parliamentary polls.
Earlier this week, PM Kosor sent invitations to representatives of opposition parliamentary parties for talks on how to wrap up the EU accession negotiations.
The HSP has one deputy and the HDSSB three deputies in the national parliament.
