Bulgarian and Slovenian ministers calls on Bosnian politicians to step up reforms

SARAJEVO, March 7 (Hina) - Foreign Ministers, Nikolay Mladenov of Bulgaria and Samuel Zbogar of Slovenia, who arrived in Sarajevo on Monday, called on politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take steps so as to ensure the resumption of reforms necessary for the country's integration with the European Union.

Their Austrian counterpart Michael Spindelegger, who was to have come too, was prevented by illness.

Mladenov and Zbogar met the Bosnian tripartite presidency and leaders of several major political parties.

We believe that it is very important to talk with political leaders and convey to them an important message about Bosnia needing a little to earn EU membership and that it is possible to achieve it in the near future but it requires courage and people in Bosnia have always had it, the Bulgarian minister said at a news conference.

The coalition led by Social Democratic Party (SDP), including the (Muslim) Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and two minor Croat parties --- the NSRzB and the HSP -- announced the gathering of their deputies in the both chambers of the Bosnian Federation's parliament later this week so as to propose a premier-designate.

Two major Bosnian Croat parties -- HDZ BiH and HDZ 1990 -- have so far accused the SDP of ignoring the will of the Croat people expressed at the general elections held last October.
