The meeting was hosted by the World Bank and was supported by the European Commission, the Southeast Europe Stability Pact and international financial institutions.
Participants agreed to set up four working groups to address four main issues -- prioritise activities and implement them in stages; harmonise regulations and administrative and operational procedures; synchronise interrelated activities; and establish sustainable financial mechanisms.
The working groups will report on the results of their work at the next meeting, due to take place at the end of the year in Bulgaria. A Memorandum of Understanding on Trade and Transport Facilitation in Southeast Europe will also be signed then.
