The Serb Orthodox Church issued a statement on Friday evening, ten days after the broadcasting of a video tape showing members of the the Serb 'Scorpions' unit killing six young Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims).
"That event deserves unequivocal condemnation and sincere condolence on the suffering of innocent civilians," the statement reads. According to the Belgrade-based Beta news agency, the statement is headline "Our Lord, may It never happen again!"
The Church also labels the taping of that crime on a video cassette as "a sadistic ritual", expressing its willingness to help prevent occurrence of such a crime ever again.
The Orthodox Church also recalls crimes which were committed against local Serbs in eastern Bosnia stressing that those crimes "do not justify cold-blooded murders committed by Scorpions".
