ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - The threatening letter sent to some media companies on Tuesday by the self-proclaimed terrorist network "Raid on Politics" is still being analysed and so far there is no evidence that the network is responsible for the recent explosions in eastern Slavonia or that members of the Basque terrorist organisation ETA are in Croatia, officials of the Croatian Ministry of the Interior said on Wednesday.

"There are no elements whatsoever that would confirm what the authors of the letter claim - that this alleged terrorist network is responsible for the three recent explosions in Vukovar-Srijem County and that some ETA members are in Croatia," Ministry spokesman Zlatko Mehun told Hina.

He added that the letters, which were sent by regular mail to Croatian Television (HTV), the commercial TV network RTL, and "Vecernji List" and "24 sata" dailies, were still being analysed by the Ministry's forensic experts, who were looking for possible fingerprints or DNA traces.

Mehun said he expected the analyses to be completed by the end of the week. He added the police and security services were conducting an extensive investigation, but he did not provide any details as to what exactly is being done to discover the authors of the letter, which announces new terrorist acts against state property and politicians.

The letter read that the "Raid on Politics" organisation is also responsible for the threatening letter sent to Croatian Radio and Television, RTL and Vecernji List in early May. In that letter, an unnamed terrorist network threatened to carry out attacks in Croatia in the period between 5 and 12 May. The latest letter reads that the first letter was a test for security services.

Both letters were written on a computer and contain a number of grammatical errors.
