The returns from 37 of the 58 polling stations set up in the city, show that the HDZ won 3,202 votes, i.e. 33 percent.
The coalition of the HNS - LS (People's Party - the Liberal Party) was the second with 14 percent of the vote and the SDP-HSLS (Social Democratic Party and Social Liberal Party) finished third with 12 percent.
The independent slate led by Pero Vican won 10 percent of the vote and the HSS and HSP parties won six and five percent respectively.
