Kosor spent 2.9 million kuna for promotion on HRT in both rounds of the polls, while Mesic spent 1.45 million, TIH president Zorislav Petrovic told the press.
Although Mesic had 78 more promotional advertisements than Kosor, hers, measured in seconds, lasted twice longer.
According to figures the candidates submitted to the State Election Commission, Mesic spent the most on his campaign, about 6.5 million kuna. Kosor reported her costs at 6.45 million.
Ivic Pasalic spent 495,000 kuna on promotion on the HRT, Boris Miksic spent 208,000 kuna, Djurdja Adlesic 112,000 and Slaven Letica 94,000 kuna.
Petrovic said TIH had requested the HRT to submit the figures more than four months ago, after the first round of the elections, but received them only yesterday. He added, however that this was nevertheless a huge step forward for Croatian democracy, and voiced hope that a law on the financing of political parties and campaigns would be adopted before the next elections.
Petrovic called on candidates running in the May 15 local elections to report the costs of their campaigns a week before and a week after election day.
