ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - One hundred and twenty-six ethnic Bosniaks from Cetingrad, Vojnic and Topusko were granted Croatian citizenship on Thursday after years of legal wrangling, and a further 30 of them qualify for citizenship and will be issued citizenship certificates over the next few days.

They were handed their citizenship certificates by the head of the Islamic community in Croatia, Sevko Omerbasic, at a ceremony in the village of Maljevac in the municipality of Cetingrad, about 80 kilometres south of Zagreb, close to the border with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

These people are members of the Bosniak national minority in Croatia. They were born in Croatia and left the country during the 1991-1995 war. Ever since they returned to their homes after the war, they have had the status of foreigners.
