ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - Representatives of the Roma-Lovari ethnic group from the town of Bjelovar presented in Zagreb on Wednesday an exhibition and cultural-educational centre of that indigenous Croatian ethnic group.

The documentation and historical exhibition on this ethnic group was staged in Bjelovar (60 kilometres east of Zagreb) in December 2004,

This ethnic group arrived in Croatia in the 14th century. Of 27,000 Roma living in Croatia before the Second World War, only 405 remained in 1948, a representative of the Roma-Lovari ethnic group, Sladjana Djurdjevic, said in Zagreb today.

According to the 2001 census, there are 9,463 Roma in Croatia. It is believed that their number is actually higher.

The number of Roma-Lovari is put at 1,420, and most of them live in Bjelovar County.
