SARAJEVO, April 14 (Hina) - A member of Bosnia-Herzegovina's State Border Service wanted by Croatia for war crimes, Milovan Zec, will not be extradited to Croatia, the Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina decided on Thursday.

Zec was arrested on Wednesday on an Interpol Croatia warrant and was interviewed at the Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina today, the court's secretary general, Vahida Jeftic, told Hina.

The court established that Zec has Bosnian citizenship and can therefore not be extradited to another country. Under Bosnia's law on criminal proceedings, there are no assumptions to set extradition detention for Zec either, Jeftic said.

Zec was released after the interview.

Jeftic said it was possible for another country to submit evidence to Bosnia's judiciary necessary for criminal proceedings, but that no such proposal had come from Croatia.

It remains unclear if Zec will remain employed with Bosnia's State Border Service or if measures will be taken against him given that he is charged with war crimes.
